Regular Admission: The student can register for 14 or more credits per semester. (See the Course Load Policy in the Academics Section under Registration.) A typical load is 15 or 16 credit hours.
Provisional Admission: The student is limited to a course load of 13 hours.§
Probationary Admission: The student is admitted on Academic Probation, limited to a course load of 13 hours,§ required to enroll in specified courses, restricted to no extra-curricular activities, and is limited to a job load of no more than 20 hours per week. If a grade point average (GPA) of 1.7 or higher is not achieved by the end of the first semester the student is suspended for a minimum of one semester. A 2.0 GPA or higher will remove the student from probation.
§Academic Success and Basic Writing Lab are not counted against the 13-hour limit for students on provisional or probationary admission status.
The table below gives requirements for each level of acceptance. Equivalent scores will be used for students who have completed the SAT. Exceptions to this policy may be made in cases where significant time has elapsed, or when there is evidence of life transformation.
